Games Like I Love Hue: Which One Fits Your Play Style?

Choose TINT for square gradient puzzles without ads, or I Love Hue Too for varied geometric mosaics and three daily challenges. If you mainly want a larger collection of familiar color grids, I Love Hue itself still has a reason to stay on your phone. The right I Love Hue alternative depends on what you want to change about your sessions.

Start with the part you want to change

More shapes, fewer interruptions, and a daily challenge are different reasons to switch. TINT keeps the board to square tiles arranged in a rectangle, with pinned tiles as anchors. I Love Hue’s Google Play screenshots show the familiar grid format. I Love Hue Too adds more than thirty geometric tiling patterns, according to its store description. Its official FAQ also documents pinch-to-zoom, a useful distinction if small pieces are your main frustration. TINT has no board zoom control. Decide whether you want a new layout or the same basic activity with different tradeoffs before choosing.

TINT vs I Love Hue: a smaller collection with a different payment model

I Love Hue’s store listings advertise more than 900 levels, compared with TINT’s 70 chapter boards. The original also lists accomplishment sharing, achievements, and comparisons with the world average. Those are reasons to keep it if a large catalog or a shared performance benchmark matters to you; TINT offers chapter stars rather than those social features. The I Love Hue FAQ explains that Prisms are spent to open levels, including replays. TINT has no Prism balance to manage: chapter access depends on level progression and whether the chapter requires Pro.

I Love Hue Too vs TINT: shapes and daily puzzles

I Love Hue Too’s store listing advertises more than 1,900 puzzles. Its FAQ says Daily Divination unlocks after you earn enough hearts and includes a timed challenge, a best-score challenge, and an advanced wild card. You can reach those challenges through the Challenges button without completing the divination ceremony. TINT’s Daily Harmony offers one untimed 6-by-8 board based on your device’s local date, accessible without Pro. Choose the sequel for several daily formats and geometric variety; choose TINT if one daily grid suits your routine. Daily Harmony is separate from TINT’s chapter-star collection.

Hints: compare the help and its effect on your score

TINT’s bulb places a misplaced tile into its correct position by swapping it with another tile. It then has a 45-second cooldown, requires no ad, and does not increase the move counter. I Love Hue Too’s official FAQ confirms a Hint command in the gameplay menu and says each use adds three moves. For the original I Love Hue game, the official FAQ’s stuck-level advice does not establish a comparable hint feature; check the app’s gameplay controls if that is essential to your choice. A missing feature description is not proof that a feature is absent.

Ads and purchases: check what the payment actually changes

Both I Love Hue games are free to download with in-app purchases on the US App Store; their Google Play listings disclose ads and purchases. The original’s FAQ says buying any Prism pack removes ads between levels. I Love Hue Too’s App Store purchase list includes Remove Ads; check your platform’s store for the offer and current price. TINT has no ads, including in its free chapters. Sunrise and Lagoon provide 20 free boards; the other five chapters require a recurring TINT Pro subscription. Before accepting a TINT trial, verify its duration and renewal period in Google Play’s purchase confirmation, because the app’s trial summary may not match the offer.

Progress saving: a reason to keep your existing game

The official FAQs for both I Love Hue games describe cloud recovery through Google Play Games on Android and an Apple ID on iOS; I Love Hue Too also specifies enabling iCloud if syncing fails. Neither supports progress transfers between Android and iOS. TINT saves completed chapter stars and daily completion information on your device, without an account or cloud sync. TINT does not save an unfinished board or its move count for an app restart. If you often change devices, the documented cloud options in the I Love Hue games may matter more than a different board style.

TINT limitations to weigh before subscribing

TINT’s final Mono board, level 10, can look correctly arranged without registering completion because some identical-looking tiles are treated as different pieces. That is a game issue, not a reason to assume you missed a visible shade difference. The hint bulb can help place the remaining pieces. Daily Harmony’s streak badge can also show an old streak after missed days until you complete another daily puzzle. These limitations matter if your main goal is completing every chapter or tracking an uninterrupted daily streak.

Try the alternative against your own routine

Start with TINT’s free Sunrise chapter and try both dragging and tapping two tiles to swap them. Complete a board, reopen the app, and check that its stars remain. Use Daily Harmony to decide whether one daily board is enough. Keep your existing game installed while comparing, especially before confirming its cloud sign-in settings. On iPhone or iPad, both I Love Hue games have App Store listings; this TINT comparison concerns the Android app. TINT is not affiliated with I Love Hue, I Love Hue Too, or their developer.

Frequently asked questions

Is I Love Hue’s daily gift a daily puzzle?

Its official FAQ describes a daily gift of Prisms, which are used to open levels. That is different from a dedicated daily puzzle mode. Check the app for any additional daily features.

Can I continue a half-finished puzzle on another device?

Do not assume that cloud progress includes the tile arrangement you left unfinished. Both I Love Hue FAQs exclude individual-level progress from device syncing. TINT has no device-sync feature.

Does TINT have a timer?

TINT’s chapter boards and Daily Harmony have no countdown. Chapter stars depend on move count, so you can take your time comparing colors.

Does TINT save my personal best move count?

TINT keeps your highest star result for each chapter level. It does not keep a personal-best move record, so it will not replace a game you mainly play to improve a saved score.

Can I replay a TINT level with a new arrangement?

Yes. Reopening a chapter level reshuffles its movable tiles while retaining its board size, palette, and pinned positions. Your saved highest star result stays unless you reset chapter progress.

Does removing ads unlock every puzzle?

Check the purchase description for the specific game and platform. An ad-removal purchase describes advertising access; do not assume it also changes level currency, progression requirements, or access to other content.

TINT: a calm color-harmony puzzle for Android. Swap tiles until every hue flows into place. Seven chapters from sunrise gradients to expert monochrome ramps, a gentle hint system, and no ads — just you and color.
