Can You Play Color Puzzle Games Offline?
Yes—TINT: Hue Puzzle lets you play its available color puzzles offline, including the free chapters and Daily Harmony, but Pro purchases and subscription checks may need a connection. The useful distinction is between playing a board and confirming access to paid chapters. Before relying on the app for a trip, check both, and remember that completed stars are saved but unfinished boards are not.
Online or offline: what is the difference?
When choosing a color puzzle game, ask what happens after the connection disappears. Can you open another board, use a hint, finish it, and return later to find your earned stars? An online color puzzle game may depend on a website or service for a particular feature; offline play means the playable board can run on your device without that connection. In TINT, the regular boards and daily puzzle are created on the device. Google Play handles the separate task of purchases and confirming Pro access.
Which TINT features work offline?
On a board you can access, swapping tiles, using hints, restarting, and completing the puzzle work without a connection. The hint button places a tile and then has a cooldown; reconnecting is not how you recharge it. Sound and vibration preferences can also be changed and saved offline. Access is the important qualification: having the puzzle content on your phone does not mean every paid chapter is permanently unlocked.
How much can you play without Pro?
Sunrise and Lagoon, the first two chapters, contain 20 free boards. You progress through each chapter by completing the preceding level, so a lock can mean you still have a puzzle to finish. Bloom, Neon, Pastel, Dusk, and Mono require Pro access. Turning on Wi-Fi will not remove a progression lock, and buying Pro does not remove the requirement to finish preceding levels within a chapter. Daily Harmony is available separately from the paid chapters. You can therefore check ordinary offline play before deciding whether you want Pro.
Why Pro may need an occasional connection
TINT checks Pro access through Google Play when the app opens and when it returns to the foreground. If Play cannot respond, the app can temporarily retain access based on its last successful confirmation, with an allowance of up to seven days from that confirmation. This is not a promise of unlimited offline Pro access, and the allowance does not extend a subscription. Before a long period without service, connect, open TINT, and make sure the paid chapter you want is accessible. If it later locks, reconnect so Play can check your subscription again. The free chapters remain an option while you resolve paid access.
Does Daily Harmony need a daily download?
No. Daily Harmony uses your device’s local date to create the day’s board, so it does not need to download a puzzle each morning. Completing it records the completion date and updates your local streak; it does not add stars to the regular chapter total. Keep the device’s date correct when using this feature. If the level list stays open across midnight, its daily card may still show the previous day’s status until the list refreshes. Finish any board you are playing, then reopen the app if the card looks out of date. Reconnecting alone is not what generates the next daily puzzle.
What is saved when you stop playing?
TINT saves stars from completed regular levels, daily completion and streak information, and your language, sound, and vibration settings on the device. Those saves do not wait for an internet connection. However, the app does not save an unfinished board’s tile positions or move count for a later restart. If the app closes and starts again, you cannot rely on resuming that arrangement. Finish a board before ending a session when possible. TINT also has no in-app cloud sync or progress transfer feature: restoring Pro access is separate from recovering puzzle progress on another device.
A practical check before traveling
Install TINT while connected and open it before you leave. If you use Pro, check a paid chapter at this point. Then turn off both Wi-Fi and mobile data, or use airplane mode and make sure Wi-Fi stays off. Open an available board, swap tiles, and try a hint when it is ready. Complete a short regular level and confirm that its stars remain after closing and reopening the app while still offline. This checks the actions you will actually need on your phone. Do it with a fresh board, since reopening the app will not preserve an unfinished arrangement.
If Google Play is unavailable
A message that Google Play is unavailable concerns the purchase service; it does not mean every puzzle needs internet access. Use a free chapter while offline. To resolve Pro access, reconnect and try Restore purchases on the Pro screen. Google Play Help recommends checking connectivity, reopening the app, checking that payment completed, and keeping the Play Store updated when purchased content is missing. If a payment went through but Pro still does not appear, check its status before attempting another purchase. For TINT support, contact support@hugosoftware.net and describe the message and chapter involved.
A finished-looking board is a different issue
If Mono level 10 looks complete but does not finish, an internet connection is not the missing step. That board contains some identical-looking tiles, and exchanging them can leave a visually correct arrangement that the app does not accept as solved. This is a puzzle-completion issue that can also occur online. Try the hint button when it is ready, or report the board to support. Do not reset your earned stars to troubleshoot it.

Frequently asked questions
Can I play TINT on a plane?
Yes, provided the app is installed and the board is accessible. Check it with Wi-Fi and mobile data off before departure. For Pro chapters, confirm access while connected beforehand; a long trip can exceed the temporary offline allowance.
Do I need to create an account for offline play?
TINT does not require a separate game account to play its free puzzles. Pro purchases and ownership checks use Google Play, so the absence of a TINT sign-in does not make purchases independent of the store.
Will losing signal in the middle of a puzzle erase my moves?
Tile swaps do not depend on the connection. Losing signal is different from the app closing: an app restart does not restore an unfinished board. Avoid closing it until you finish if you want to keep the current arrangement.
Is an online demo the same as an offline test?
No. Test the installed Android app you plan to use. TINT’s interactive demo resets on refresh, and its access behavior differs from the Android app’s Google Play checks. A successful browser session does not establish offline Pro availability.
Should I use Reset progress if a paid chapter stays locked?
No. Reset progress clears your regular level stars; it does not restore a purchase or fix connectivity. Reconnect and use Restore purchases for a Pro access problem, or complete the preceding level if the lock is part of chapter progression.
